The Mini DisplayPort lets you connect an external display, including the Apple LED Cinema Display, to your iMac. On the 27-inch iMac, the same port offers input, too. So you can connect any external source that has DisplayPort output — including a MacBook or MacBook Pro — and use your iMac as a display." Retail pricing, there's only about $80 difference between the i5 and i7. Re: 2.8 Ghz, Quad Core i7 27" iMac... tempting.... - Grateful11 - 10-20-2009 This almost deserves a sticky! 27" might outriggers on the screen! I maxed out the Quad's hardware $3868 ! Re: 2.8 Ghz, Quad Core i7 27" iMac... tempting.... - AAA - 10-20-2009 I did that on the store, too. $4,000!!! Re: 2.8 Ghz, Quad Core i7 27" iMac... tempting.... - RAMd®d - 10-20-2009 $300 instead of $100 or less retail. Of course. But how easy is it to install an HD on the new iMacs? I don't imagine it's any *easier*, but I have no clue. Does this new remote do anything the old remotes don't? I seemed to think the old ones were more Front Row centric. Re: 2.8 Ghz, Quad Core i7 27" iMac... tempting.... - decay - 10-20-2009 my point is Apple will overcharge wherever it can. even on user-installable RAM or hard drives. i wouldn't have a problem paying for a faster CPU or GPU in an iMac - I'm not going in to replace it myself. |
