I used iWork trial, expired. Bought it last week in that deal. New retail box doesn't have serial number.

It's asking for a serial number, but according to the Apple support site, current retail versions don't require one.

I installed from the DVD, and only see one copy of the programs on my hard drive.

Apple says to just install it from the retail DVD and it should work even if you had the trial version.

Not happening so far. I've deleted the three programs and am reinstalling.

I removed those preferences, but it didn't work. I'll have to call Apple this weekend.

In addition to the prefs files, did you also delete the folder mentioned in Application Support?

No problem with my copy. I don't think it asked for a serial #.
