Another SJ tribute @ Disney
#1
This was on The Hub, which I believe is their internal newsletter for Cast Members.

"The Chief Security Officer of The Walt Disney Company has received a direction from Bob Iger to lower both US and Disney flags to half-staff October 6-12, 2011, in observance of the passing of Steven Paul Jobs.

In addition to co-founding Apple, Steve Jobs co-founded and was the CEO of Pixar Animation Studios. Steve's connection to Disney continued as Pixar merged with The Walt Disney Company in 2006. Steve also served on the board of directors for The Walt Disney Company. We are saddened by his passing and are grateful for the impact he has had on our lives and company.

In preparation, listed below is the flag protocol to be followed:

Flags should be brought to half-staff immediately, October 6 and returned to full staff at sunrise Thursday, Oct. 13."

I like that.

Not sure that's proper protocol for the US flag, but I like it nonetheless.

I liked reading that Apple Stores (all or some, I don't know) had turned of the lighted Apple sign. That struck me as a simple and elegant tribute that Jobs might have appreciated.

I felt it very apropos - with Jobs' death, Apple lost its shining light.

You raise the flag to full staff then lower to half staff.

Didn't think I should start a new thread (especially if it has already been mentioned) but even EBAY has a front page mention. Very simple...

"Steve Jobs
1955-2001

We have lost the greatest
innovator of our time."
