Went to the Cult last night

Part of their Electric 13 tour where they play their 1987 album Electric all the way through and then the 2nd half of the show is dedicated to other hits and some deep cuts.

Was a great show at the House of Blues in Houston. Small venue, great sound and mix.

Billy Duffy was on fire.

Here's the setlist:

Wild Flower
Peace Dog
Lil' Devil
Aphrodisiac Jacket
Electric Ocean
Bad Fun
King Contrary Man
Love Removal Machine
Zap City
Outlaw
Memphis Hip Shake

2nd set:
Rain
Honey From a Knife
Sweet Soul Sister
Lucifer
Embers
The Phoenix
Rise
For the Animals
She Sells Sanctuary

Encore:
Nirvana
Spiritwalker
Sun King

I worked security when that tour came through Atlanta in 1989 (brand new Coca-Cola Lakewood Amphitheater). Metallica actually opened for The Cult at that show. We collected lots of bottles and knives at the entrance that night.

I saw them in 86 at the Sunken Gardens Amphitheater in San Antonio, opening act : Guns and Roses.

One of the best shows of my life!

That's either a very large guitar or a very small guitarist:

"The Cult’s first two albums, Dreamtime and Love, solidified their place among the pre-“alternative” elite, with the latter album featuring what would become their most popular single, “She Sells Sanctuary,” which remains a global staple on rock radio twenty years on and was even featured on a 2012 Super Bowl advertisement in the States.

Every track on those iconic albums featured his Gretsch White Falcon exclusively, and Duffy has made a point to include it on every subsequent album, most notably the chart-topping Electric and Sonic Temple, and their most recent critically acclaimed release Choice of Weapon."
