so buy a ticket for a cheaper movie, go into that theatre, wait a few minutes, then cross the deserted hallway to the theatre playing batman.

At least around here, with so many theaters doing assigned seating, that wouldn't necessarily work anymore (although if you go sit in the back edge or somewhere undesirable, it'd probably be fine and you could move after the movie starts).

...how long it will be until theaters start charging more for desirable seats, just like airlines are doing.
I was about to echo Bill's sentiment - buy a cheaper ticket, but I also forgot about the assigned seating limitation... no doubt that is a challenge but not much of one, like you said. The desirable seats will no doubt be next to upcharge - please delete your post to delay giving them the idea!

My local 10-screen movie theatre had:
6-8 self serve ticket kiosks in the lobby.
1 person selling tickets.
1 person serving popcorn and working the register.
1 person with a broom.

If someone wanted to be a dk they could just walk in, watch movies for free and leave. No one would notice/care.

Similar situation at the theater closest to my home, except for the ticket seller - they don't have one of those. I've often wondered the same thing.

I want. The public is overrated."

AGREED :boink:

Ditto. My son usually can’t hold his bladder for an entire movie, and I’d say that over the last 10+ years, he’s the reason we’ve gone to the actual theater. I think the last movie I saw in a theater that wasn’t for him specifically was one of the Star Wars ones. I can’t even remember which one. With bigger TVs, and a decent home theater setup, I don’t see me going to a theater anytime soon.
