The problem is that the left was discredited. And the security environment makes people crave right wing solutions, even in the US. Polls show that the most left government that could form would be to the right of anything that would seek a solution.

And the settlements keep going. I am pretty sure many Americans would support violence if they watched 'settlers' encroach on their towns and call in IDF support for it.

Frankly, our situation here is just based on cultural fear and we have 40% of American voting for Trump.

It's gonna be apartheid and violence all the way down.

Yeah, when I posted that it was hard to imagine the U.S. government accepting some form of quasi-to-actual apartheid, I was thinking of the strong support a two state solution has had with U.S. governments of both parties in the past. If Trump wins, then I don't doubt he'll have no problem whatsoever accepting a quasi-to-actual apartheid of Palestinians - if he can get the Saudis to buy in (get Jared to work on it).

I wonder if Bibi is playing out the clock with Biden and hoping Trump wins so he can just go ahead and openly ditch the two state idea.
