I loved Hart's characters, but was offended by his constant pushing of his particular (and rather oddball) religious views in the strips to the point where I stopped reading them.

I mean, I've got nothing against doing a religiously-themed comic strip -- hell, I collect Jack T. Chick's stuff -- but it was particularly nutso to have CAVEMEN discussing religion so much. The BC strip also promulgated the notion that man and dinosaurs co-existed, which is complete bunkum.

I'm sure Mr. Hart was a nice fellow, and I did follow the strips when I was young, but let's not forget that he got in his fair share of hot water over the years for his rather backward views on certain subjects, particularly his deeply offensive views on women.

I wish that the more religious people on this forum and in society in general would remember that freedom OF religion includes freedom FROM religion for those of us who don't choose to believe in magic. Thanks.
