Public resentment and politics over the loud booms of N-waves resulted in laws that prohibited them.

Public suits in the late fifteis to end testing anywhere near inhabited areas.


I recall the sonic booms from the Concordes landing in New York years ago.
Heard with regularity on Cape Cod.

lots of things aren't. especially public/citizen funded transportation.

Public/citizen funded transportation is quite viable, I have been in many areas where as mass transportation it has worked quite well. Main area it fails is when one form competes against another which gets all sort of indirect and hidden subsidies for political reasons compared to visible ones for the first.
