A second monitor is really sweet. I have a 20" iMac, but I had a nice 19" LCD with the MDD that died, so I use it with the iMac. I don't need it all the time, but it's great for some kinds of projects. I often transcribe very old writings, and it's nice to be able to keep reference materials open and viewable on the second monitor while using the main one for my transcription project.
My hubby would have said something similar. Yes, it's sweet, so we try not to take advantage.
