Point & Shoot Digital Cameras...What's in your pocket?
#11
I already am leaning towards a Canon since I own an S1 IS.

I will check my local Target stores tomorrow and see if they have the 520 on sale as rgG said and I will also check my local Costco.

If not I will probably go for this A85 from NewEgg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6830120152

I like my Olympus Stylus Verve. I had some of the same criteria but the lithium battery is waaaaaaay better than AA rechargeables. As rGg mentioned, CF is gonna limit you as well.
I found mine on closeout for $139 . . . I think the current gen will set you back at least $200.

Maybe not the best idea, but you might consider getting a used camera off eBay or the like. Something like the Nikon Coolpix series, a 3mp camera would be pretty cheap by now. Most of those used CF cards, and some with AA batteries too.

I too would reccomend eBay as you are looking for an "old school" camera and there are loads of them there as everyone who has purchased a new cam is dumping thier old one, just find one that suits your needs and "buy now"!!!

A good refrence for older cams is here...

This is for Canon cams, but you can click around for other brands too!!!

Old school because it's compact flash? That's a rich one. So, those cams that are thicker than a CF card are antiquated.

I'll allow for the possibility that a cam as narrow as a pube can take decent pics, but I won't allow for the possibility that such diminuitiveness is essential.
