Our "war on terror" is only on page on of the first chapter. OBL floating with the fishes is the equivalent to about two letters of a sentence on that first page.

I guess there are various reasons to try to diminish the Obama administration's victory in regard to OBL. Pakistan wants to make it look like he just wasn't important enough for them to bother tracking within their borders. Not hard to fathom what your motivation may be.
Huh?
I am not diminishing the Obama administration. This is worth celebrating. I am dancing in the streets about the United States' victory in regard to OBL. My motivation is clearly to keep the world free from radical islam terrorists. This motivation has no borders or is not limited to who is or isn't president.
I was actually out of the country at the time this happened and I will tell you that I was very happy with the news - personally, for our country AND for
our President. I don't think anyone will disagree that his track record has not met the expectations he promised and getting OBL is a good boost for him when he could really use a boost of perception.
Do I enjoy the irony of Obama now being thought of as a hawk? I do. I am not an Obama supporter - this is not a secret. But this was good for our country as well as good for the Obama admin.
I do take issue with those who think now that we have eliminated OBL that all things are roses. OBL is just the tip of the iceberg. Lets celebrate this as a victory but not all get lulled into a sense of security and accomplishment.
As the intent of this thread states, there is a rash of islamoterrorist stuff going on right now (like the dude storming the cockpit in the story above) and I have a feeling the bar has been raised. To reduce our diligence now could be fatal.
Fighting terrorism is not a destination - it is a lasting journey that clearly doesn't end now and probably never will. That is my agenda.

PS sorry for the double post. I didn't see the one posted on this side and my original posted got moved from the other side.
Thanks for the clarification. I hope you won't be disappointed if the volume of global terrorism continues to track pretty evenly going forward. The media certainly will be-- there's a palpable itching right now for "something to happen."
Somehow I have missed hearing anyone claim that killing Bin Laden somehow ended terrorism. Id be interested to hear who you've heard putting forth the "all things roses" picture.
