Any way to keep my gmail address (which is tied to my Google Profile) private (or vice versa)?

can you get more alias at fastmail? i get many with my account. i use subdomain addressing instead which has worked for me (if someone wanted to figure out my primary they could but in many yrs i dont any spammer has.

Thanks for the additional replies. Think I may just keep my Profile with the fake name for now until all of Google's privacy stuff gets worked out.

That's your best option right now if you don't want to go with an alternate gmail address.

Michealb was on the money with fastmail aliasing though-- you can choose from a long list of domains.
