New MBPs coming?
#1
Since I'm planning on buying a MBP I have to assume there will be an update within a week or so after my purchase. February was the last update so it's a little past the average time.
I don't read the rumor sites, does anyone else?

I think SJ's illness put a damper on things.

I'm not expecting a real update to MBPs until early 2012

2012 is rumored to be a major makeover year for the portable at Apple; I'd need to search for references, but I recall Tim (maybe not Tim, but I know not Steve) saying something about the MacBook Air being a sort of prototype for the next MacBook Pro line -- in other words, the two lines were going to meld together and there were already a few designs "skunkworking" around Apple, and that the 2012 release (the last major update (with Thunderbolt added) was in Q1 2011) would represent a paradigm shift in the line.

Yeah - all the rumor mills were proposing a form factor change basically using the same current logic board but with updated CPUs.

I want an SSD/HD MBP with i7. I can buy one now and replace the optical drive, but I'd prefer one where the OS seamlessly goes between the SSD and HD storage.
