Grad, thanks for mentioning the MX500. That's the mouse I've used for years, and love it. Is the size of the G7 about the same? Weight about the same? How much did you pay for it?
The G7 feels only a slight bit heavier than the MX500. It really isn't that noticible after the first hour or so. I was expecting it to be heavy, like the MX1000.
Only drawback to the G7 compared to the MX500 is that there is no Forward Thumb Button (which I rarely used anyways), and there are no "programmable" buttons where the scroll wheel is (ala MX500). However, I found that the new tiltable scroll wheel is great, and easily pressable!! This makes it just as functional as the MX500 buttons, and honestly easier to push.
