Warning for Steam users on OSX 10.6.8
#11
If you buy a new iPhone, how new a version of OS X do you need to install?

A lot of it is ROI. Not a lot of people still using OS 10.6.8 are buying a lot of new games, so why should they spend a lot of money testing the updater?

After 10.6 was released, Apple said that the fast and furious OS updates would slow down.

I guess they lied.

It's totally insane to have a new OS every year.

iOS updates have been done directly on the iPhone for the past few years.
If you're referring to iPhone sync with your Mac, I believe you need OSX 10.9.x or newer along with the latest iTunes. 10.9 is the oldest that's Apple is still supporting.

This. Why are people complaining about other companies not supporting older OS' when the oldest version Apple is actively supporting was released 2.5 years ago. Mavericks (10.9.5) is only getting security patches now. I expect a lot of people to complain when a new iPhone/iPad will only reliably work with 10.10.5 (likely when iOS 9+n is released).
