at 3:17 in this clip, I'm the slave with the afro and no shirt on in Julie Dash's "Daughters of the Dust." It was a trip seeing this. The tiny woman slave is my then girlfriend Lorna. The lead male is one of my best friends, Adisa who mentored me when I was a teenager. The director is a friend from my High School days. She was going to UCLA at that time. This was/is a landmark film.

I worked on it for a good while. Julie made me do that part. Hurricane Hugo postponed the shoot as it struck once we started shooting. Shot on the South Carolina Sea Islands near Beaufort.
