Bottom line is was the Apple ID. Now the next challenge is to find out why. Maybe change the Apple ID, I mean log in to your OLD Apple ID and change email to a new one. Maybe that will reset whatever is wrong. You should have all iTunes purchases still available. You are not making a new account, just change the email that you use to log in.

I am curious what happens if you turn WiFi OFF and are on LTE and then log in to your iTunes/iCloud account, the Signal just disappears out of the blue?

This is very interesting! I hope you have a follow-up post once you figure out what's up with your ID.
I've been having issues with my last 2 iPhones (5s and now an SE) where they initially worked great, then after several months, they would start draining much more rapidly than normal. This abnormal draining would continue to be the 'norm' even after I replaced the batteries in them. I hadn't thought about my Apple ID until this post (and I have gone through the settings with a fine toothed comb!). My wife and I have the exact same phones, bought at the same time. I may try swapping phones with her and seeing if the draining continues (which she has never experienced on her iPhones). |
