3D Gaming: 8 Core VS 4 Core MacPro

I think it is average (something other than continuous) fps. If you're running 30fps, the really complex scenes are going to get really choppy. Unless 30fps usually means minimum fps, which I can't imagine it does. kj.

I would think the faster the action, the higher the frame rate needed to show that smoothly.

Anybody remember CRTs and refresh rates? Anything under 75-80Hz drove me nuts.

Yet I know a lot of people who find the pulsing 60Hz refresh rate as "What are you talking about? It looks fine to me."

That made me think of something. Have you ever looked at a single frame from a regular movie (24FPS) from a fast action scene? It looks like crap. If you are trying to shoot something that is moving really fast, it is impossible if it is blurry.

RAM and I know just to go center of mass. Only idiots and movie heroes try to shoot the gun hand.

But if they have kevlar on, it takes way more shots to kill your opponent.

That's why I have 17 rd magazines. And a 30. The 30 is mostly a joke, though fully loaded, it makes a great counterweight. Sort of like a steady-cam rig.

Unless you have those evil evil cop-killing Black Talons. Ooooooooh, evil Black Talons..........

[quote Racer X]no one has ever been able to answer this for me. If the human eye registers video as continuous, rather than a bunch of frames, at about 30 fps, why the hell does some one need 80 fps? Is it bragging rights?
Play a FPS with the frames per second displayed. When you feel sluggish (known as LAG) look at what the fps is. I feel that 70 fps is about bare minimum to PWN the kiddies. I prefer to run at 100 fps+.
