some info on what exact backpack, and why you chose it would be helpful.

I have an inCase neoprene sleeve (black) for my blackbook.

I also use the Marware wrist-area protector (in black, natch) and an exo skin for the keyboard (black w/white letters, natch).

I use iKlear to clean the screen from time to time, and simply a damp microfibre cloth to clean the exterior (my but the blackbook picks up oily fingerprints REALLY WELL!).

does anyone use the speck case with a sleeve? I don't have a bag specifically for my MBP - and i don't want one - but i'd like to protect the speck case while its in my bag.

Kensington Saddlebag. Had it for years, through three different Mac laptops.

That's exactly why I got the Speck. I used to use a sleeve, and it is much more convenient to just pull it out of my bag. If the case gets scratched, it gets scratched--it is easily and more cheaply replaced.
