LOL! I use that phrase on numerous occasion with our young cousins and pre-K children at the daycare center I work. Of course, they always look at me in awe not knowing that it was just a fib.

No joke, guys - one of my first assignments in my first engineering lab in college was to construct a slide rule. Interesting exercise.

Heck, I had to grow a tree.
Train a beaver to cut it down.
Dig up iron ore.
Smelt it.
Forge it into tools.
Then build a slide rule with the beaver-cut, self-grown wood using the tools I forged.

POMTL, though I've trained more than a few beavers in my time.
And I had to walk five miles in the snow, UPHILL, BOTH ways.
But is was worth it.
