Kodak's FIRST digital camera
#11
[quote deckeda]Back then they were called "point and shoot and replace the cassette" Failed in the marketplace due to lack of catchy name.

We have a shelf full of Kodak DCS 200 digital SLR's from 1991 at work.. They $10,000 when new and gave 1.4mp., now they gather dust.

I worked for Kodak when this project was completed and shown to management. It was strictly a proof of concept project. Management, at the time, said it would never fly and displace chemical photography!!! Just another miscalculation in a series of miscalculions that took this once great company into the toilet. Instant cameras, the disc camera are just a few of the others.

Truly digital, complete with a Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC) data cassette drive. I forget the model number of that one, its been a while since I've seen one.
