Suggestions for cleaning windshield - Interior
#11
I will have to try some of the suggestions, had tried Windex and some of the stronger glass cleaners. But had not thought to try something other than paper towels.

Yeah, it's probably a heap of plasticiser that has evaporated from the interior plastics.

I find stuff like Windex works, but you may need to clean it 5 or 6 times to get rid of the build-up if it's been a long time since it's been cleaned.

It's one of those really sloped windshields, with acres of vinyl below it for the dashboard. Add a dark color for the exterior and interior trim. So the film builds up fast, even if I clean the glass often.

The blue liquids are almost worthless, unless you like to repeat the process several times, and even then, it tends to smear and streak.

If you have some Simple Green handy, use some of that in diluted form. It does a much better job of cutting the film and doesn't streak as much.

Best yet, get yourself some Stoner's Invisible Glass. The auto parts chains carry it, and it can also be found at the auto detailing section of Target.

Use it in conjunction with one of the microfiber cloths or mitts from the same section. The mitt is easier to handle when reaching into tight spots. Even on their own, without a cleaner, they do a good job of cleaning the glass.

I use glass cleaner or Windex, but I was told to not clean my windows when the car is in the sun, or it is excessively warm out.

So when I finish washing my car in my driveway, I pull it into the garage and clean the windows in the shade.

Whatever you decide to use, be sure to wipe it until the glass squeaks. That means it's clean!
