I see it as odd also. Things like this that Medicare will cover, but yet people still go wanting in this country for basic services? Sigh....

Medicare will ========n e v e r ====== cover this.
Medicare doesn't cover squat. For the most part HMOs key off medicare to decide what to cover as well. Much ado about something that never was.

I have a family member who works at the FDA doing reviews of drug applications for the chemistry involved. There have been some rules "loosening" over the last 7 years, the head counsels for the FDA appointed by the Bush administration to interpret laws and regulations applying to the FDA saw to that. From what I have been hearing, I am not surprised it got approval.

I see this as a way around any gun ban. It's nearly the same as medical marijuana. Also this fits "we will guarantee you will pay nothing for this scooter is you insurance and Medicare refuse to pay for your hover round."

If you support the bailout (and I don't know if you do), then how can anyone protest subsidizing a medical device?
