Obama solicits direction
#11
Matt..."Is it increased transparency in government and the solicitation of ideas from the general public?"

That's it. I've really had my laugh for the day.

Increased transparency from the government, but Obama isn't leading the 'transparent' way when he won't pony up his Birth Certificate!!! And there are those in the general public soliciting him to do so and I'm supposed to believe he'll listen to the public?

The shame. The humanity, The hipocracy.

Tooooooo funny.

She’s a one-trick pony
she either fails or she succeeds
she gives her testimony
Then she relaxes in the weeds
She’s got one trick to last a lifetime
But that’s all a pony needs

I just can't get in the head of anyone who thinks Obama's a dolt.
I may not consider him 100% my dream-president, but it is crystal clear to me, based on my own observations and those of people who've worked with him that he is smarter than me and probably everyone who frequents this board.

The public is invited to review official documents and policy. How is that possibly a bad thing?

Which is worse, this?

In a memo released today, Obama-Biden Transition Project Co-chair John D. Podesta announced that all policy documents from official meetings with outside organizations will be publicly available for review and discussion on Change.gov.

This means we're inviting the American public to take a seat at the table and engage in a dialogue about these important issues and ideas -- at the same time members of our team review these documents themselves.

Or the opposite scenario?

In a memo released today, Obama-Biden Transition Project Co-chair John D. Podesta announced that all policy documents from official meetings with outside organizations will be made secret and off limits to the public.

This means we're locking the American public out of the process and hope to silence their views about these important issues and ideas -- with this added level of secrecy and back room dealings only select members of our team will have access to review these documents.

I don't want to speak for him, but it seems karsen is repudiating the approach the current administration takes to almost everything and hoping the new administration might reverse that.
