thanks for the link jebb. I had heard about those programs and tried to run them...problem is, the PC won't run anything, even in safe mode. I get the program to install (took forever), then when I try to start it up, i get the hourglass....then nothing..

Windows in like a hooker right outside the gate of a Navy base in Singapore. When it rots and falls of, you have no right to be surprised. The only ALMOST surefire way not to have these issues with Windows is to never open the seal on the PC you buy and boot it up. I say ALMOST because I have no doubt that at some point, someone will ship, or has already shipped pre-infected PCs.
