The tale of two sleepovers
#21
Politely ask the parents what happened.

It's likely that the girls were sent to bed at some point and surreptitiously stayed up talking or game-playing when they were supposed to be asleep.

Not to worry. It takes five days to screw up a sleep habit.

We were parents who let the kids stay up as long as they liked and with as many friends as wanted to stay over. Our kids turned out just great. Whereas the neighborhood kids whose parents micromanaged their lives, controlling every aspect of their existence including making them choose one friend above all others who was privileged to stay the night after a birthday party or that they must go to bed at a sleep-over at a specified time, are now all drug addicts and prostitutes.

happened to a friend's kid about a month ago. The parents even sent the kids home without breakfast. Just kicked everyone out at 9am.

There is a happy medium, and I would encourage parents to find it.

Are you suggesting wife swapping?
Or am I misinterpreting? Smile
