Didn't watch the video, but can imagine the manufactured angst displayed on it.

But I read the article, and at least it was a bit more in depth than the story that came out yesterday. I didn't realize carriers tested potential phones all that much, thinking that phone technology isn't moving very fast. It makes sense however, that a device should be certified prior to being allowed on their network.

I suspect that if you go back and search you could find that some of the people who are now saying that there was a lack of real-world testing before release are the same ones who were outraged that Apple let an engineer take one to a bar and didn't keep every iPhone under lock and key in a windowless room in Cupertino.
