Who's got a powered 7-port USB hub they're really enamored with?

i've never had a problem with my d-link hubs - http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=149

Thx-- looks reasonably solid; any idea how much power it supplies to each plug? Or maybe you can just tell me the amperage of the adapter?
.5 amps each port

Interesting that the Dr. Bott actually has a 3.5 amp adapter to supply .5 amp to each port, and D-Link only has 2.5 amp adapter. Have a couple of D-Link's here that have been bulletproof for years, but have never had them full of high drain bus powered devices... can't remember ever having more than two high drain bus powered devices hooked up at the same time. Personal rule of thumb has always been to use 2.0 amp minimum... many of the cheapo specials only have 1.0 amp adapters, which scares me about their ability to even handle a bigger adapter to support more live ports, versus passive ones. A typical assortment of self-powered printers and full size drives, and low powered media readers, input devices, USB scale, etc leaves plenty of power for a couple of bus powered portable drives.

Got this 10-port powered hub from Amazon for $27.95:

Haven't had it that long, but it seems okay. I've never seen a TEN-port hub before. What's nice about it , is that two of the ports swivel so you can plug in a USB stick without too much trouble.

By the way, it uses a 2.5amp power adapter.

I was looking at that one-- it does amazingly well in the reviews; the design is not quite what I need though-- I need room for card readers and Eye TV-- the sticking up ports are not quite right for an Eye TV . . . also was hoping to have all the ports on one side like the D-link.

I wish some of the ports on the D-link were just a hair farther apart.

The design of this one would be ideal-- just wish it was a bit more reliable (per Amazon reviews):

This hub is nothing glamorous.. but it was built/brought to market cause most all of the powered hubs out there are just not done right. This hub actually has the correct sized power supply and over all design to fully power all 7 hub ports and never have one device or another cause instability/non-reliability of another due to device power draw requirements.

Been very positively reviewed for its 'powerful' reliability. Smile
