Did everyone get their RYF WD drives?

I'm still waiting on mine. I'm kinda torn at this point because they charged my card at the time of the order, and I only get 60 days (or is it 90) from the date of the transaction to dispute the charge. Not sure if I should cancel the order, or wait.

Got a 500MB for $20. Daughter happily using it as a Time Machine drive (after suffering drive failure) on her Black MB. Wish I'd bought more than one.

That doesn't seem normal... Typically WD doesn't charge, that I knew of, unless they were shipping. Laws also out there that protect consumers when it comes to orders in general that go past 30 days to ship/fulfill. Might ping them on the order for status... If they did charge just for the order being placed, will have to make a note of that too. Thanks.

I was all excited that I thought the deal was legit because I saw my card was charged. Not sure if you saw the discussion Larry, but the real fun thing is several people on here ordered after I did and got their orders fulfilled before me. With one I confirmed the exact item number and time of order. Apparently WD doesn't fulfill orders in chronological order. I'd think there would be some sort of law against that.

Yeah, I got my FW800/USB2 320 passport a while ago.

Can't say about laws for FIFO... honestly, that just makes goods sense on every level business and customer service wise. But there is a 30 day FTC thing... and it's in general of bad form to charge before allocated to ship. It's a long time published policy here. Something sounds like got messed up, I'd objectively say an honest error or systems failure. Hopefully their Customer support makes good.

Racer X, WD told me you got mine by mistake and ask that you bring it over Wink

Larry, I exchanged some emails with them a month ago asking what happened. No one at the levels I talked to knew what happened. The first guy just said they don't have that info. Then I got a customer satisfaction survey so I filled it out honestly. Someone contacted me back and gave reasons for why it may have happened - like they other person ordered a different item and so on... but I confirmed that the exact item number was purchased by someone a couple hours after me and their item arrived shortly after placing the order. And they used the exact same link as I since I was the one that posted the link.

WD responded with a thanks for the clarification and said they would pass it along to a manager. That was about a month ago.

I did notice they have two similar drives on their site right now, non-FW800 models. Their 320GB and 500GB versions are the same price as each other. They have the 500GB version of the 320GB model I ordered. So I asked if I can get the 500GB for the same price since it's in stock.

And the result of my effort - items can't be can't be substituted, my item will not be replenished and thus order canceled.

It does look like they voided the transaction.
