I watch a few British dramas, and they can cycle through actors a lot.
On average, I'd say their dramas are superior to ours, and that their actors are much better than ours. It's not uncommon for a great character to be killed off and another to created to take its place.
I remember watching Mags and thinking she's as great as anything I'll see from the BBC. Besides the range Martindale gave her character, she was a master of nuance, something I appreciate more than anything in an actor.
Here's hoping that Mags wasn't Justified's Thriller.
