Guess who's overthinking something again.

Actually, 29. Here's the followup (I was almost going to start a new thread).

Yeah, I was definitely overthinking this. I ended up finding an old picture hanging eye hook thingie in my junk drawer, drilied a small starter hole in the top of the cap, and screwed the eye hook thing in. My old snap swivels were too small to use for the hook and the cord, so I skipped that step. I wasn't about to buy a pack just for this. Then I sacrificed one of my gazillion rca audio cables, tied the thing off and it's done. It ain't petty, but it works. My old snap swivels were too small to use for the hook and the cord, so I skipped that step. I wasn't about to buy a pack just for this. The cord does twist a little when putting on the cap, but it's fine.

Thanks for the ideas.

Any port in a storm they say. You might want to get a Tin Foil hat and put
it in the car and only wear it when you are fueling up *(:>*

...but I hope you try to clean up your fix should time permit.

At least you're not driving around holding your car door closed.

Much more professional than these solutions.
