CRT TV's seemed to last longer (15-20 years) and cost less too.
but CRT were much smaller screens, lower definition, most of those were Analog, so when they failed image got distorted, colors washed off, image was no longer sharp, etc. I have seen many CRTs that were not working properly yet people still used them, some of them didn't even realize their pictures were wrong. with digital TVs, when something fails, it usually requires repair or replacement right away.
