We're heading to Seattle next weekend. Great west coast sushi sounds amazing right about now! Do we get any kind of discount for mentioning "Racer X" when we enter the restaurant?

Now that I think of it, the dish he won with was one of the things we had last time we were there.

We don't get a price break, but he sent over some extras, and several weren't even on the menu. A good sushi place will wing it some times if they get a great find at the local market. He has a roof top garden, and a lot of his garnishes and ingredients come from there when the late spring to early fall roll around.

Kappo style sushi is kind of like a farm to table idea, and served "in the kitchen". You can sit at the "bar" right in front of him, and watch and talk as he prepares the meal. That's why everyone pestering him as he cooked was no big deal. He loves to talk and joke with his customers. Bobby really looked rattled, but Taichi loved explaining to everyone what he was doing and why.
