so here's the situation:
17" g5 imac 2.0 v2/10.4.7/9mos old refurb from online apple store
i keep my imac running almost all the time. when not in use, i put the machine to sleep.
three times in the last 4 weeks, i've come back to my desk to find the machine off, there is no slow blinking light on the lower right corner designating the machine is asleep. there is nothing.
when i attempt to wake the machine, the screen does not light but the rear upper fans do start to blow. when i continue to try to wake the machine, all i get are the fans blowing.
i have attempted to control-apple-escape to force quit but nothing appears on the screen.
i have to unplug the machine from the wall socket, then re-boot. when i re-boot, i do get the "happy bong" and there are no alerts or dialogue boxes explaining the shut down.
anyone want to be kind enough to venture a guess as to what might be going on and how i can either ascertain the nature of the problem or suggest a solution to my travails?
up until now, i have been VERY happy with this machine.
thanks in advance to any and all who care to share.
be well
