About two months ago I got a new 27" iMac with Safari (previously used snow leopard). Yesterday I decided to repair permissions in the disk utility. It isn't there. Anywhere else or is that old school?
No "repair permissions" on Safari?

Went away with ElCapitan and not restored in Sierra.

There is no need for "repair permissions" in OS X Sierra.
It's handled in the background, automatically by the core services @ various intervals.

If you want to repair permissions you can do it with the free utility Maintenance from Titanium Software .

Not sure what you were hoping to achieve -- Repairing permissions never did anything anyway -- and you cant "repair permissions" on a single app.
Is safari doing something wonky? You could always use Firefox or chrome..,

Well that's a matter of opinion. Various times when my computer was having problems, repair permissions corrected the problems and that is confirmed by numerous folks. Why else was it there if it was useless in prior systems? It worked for me.
