Coming in August: Solar Eclipse Mania
#11
Approximately 75% in my location, Northern MI. I guess I'll see something of an eclipse.

We're set, already have our welding goggles (strength 14) on hand. The totality goes over the GA/TN/NC border area, easy drive from Atlanta and the north Georgia mountains.

We'll be in Wyoming for it. We booked rooms in Yellowstone a year ago, the morning they opened for reservations.

I've seen quite a number of partials. Interesting but relatively ho-hum. Got clouded out on the only full eclipse I tried. It got quite dark, but the clouds in the vicinity diffused some of the light so that it was not nearly as dramatic. Several of the really neat effects were missing. I would say that if you have a reasonable chance for a full eclipse do NOT settle for a partial.

I got to see a total eclipse on my honeymoon, in the place with the longest totality (almost 4 minutes as I recall). We didn't plan on it, it just happened to be occurring over the island we had chosen. I still have a couple of souvenirs, including a beer can with an image of the eclipse, and a cool hologram stamp they minted for the occasion.
