Wannabe pilot out of SeaTac showed some white anxiety

Actually, this was a guy in a bleak, dank place in his life; his emotions and mind circling the drain. This is one of the extremely rare times I’m not going to draw any conclusions about who he really was based on that one fleeting comment.

It's impossible to know, he certainly did have a caring family who are overwhelmed by grief and bewildered at what he did, as he acknowledged just before he crashed the plane into Ketron Island and died.

I know one thing, he was underpaid in that job. The service agents do have security clearance to be where he was, and inside the planes. They make less than $15/hour, which is minimum wage in the city of SeaTac but airline employees are exempt from that. So people selling fast food inside the airport make more than the people who move planes around and ensure the safety of airline passengers. That's not right.

He was moving bags around, not planes, but it's true he wasn't getting paid what he thought his job was worth.

This was not the best way to protest, however.

No of course not and I don't know that his action was "protesting" but he had posted videos on Facebook complaining about not earning enough.

And part of his job as a ground service agent did include moving planes around.

Key Responsibilities
Baggage and cargo handling
Aircraft marshaling (this includes towing planes around on the tarmac and moving them into hangars for maintenance)
Aircraft deicing
Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions while remaining focused on safely performing duties
Other duties as assigned

It may have been impulsiveness more than anything else. I imagine once he was flying he knew he had many years of prison to look forward to if he managed to land.
