Not to be confused with:

"I'm a very stable genius…"

Someone should be able to compare the editorial with writings from the suspects and figure out the writer. For instance, the writer uses lots of these: —. And, they don't use the Oxford Comma, as far as I could tell. I'm sure there is a computer program that can do it in no time. But, I figure the NYT won't be able to keep a secret very long.

WaPo never released the identity of Deep Throat until Mark Felt (Deep Throat) told them they could. I would expect nothing less from the NYT. Maintaining a promised confidence is extremely serious to journalists; I know several who have been arrested for refusing to divulge a name to a court.

Others may conclude who wrote the OpEd, but the Times will not confirm a thing until the source tells them that they may do so. The only thing that can break such secrecy is if the source is found to have purposely lied.

This writer "anonymous" has cleverly used signature words, phrases and ideas from a variety of people, to keep us guessing and to shield their own identity. The person who wrote this is very smart, though their motive is unclear. I would also expect this author to lie if asked if they wrote it, so quizzing the "likely suspects" doesn't seem that helpful.

I mean if you're going to confess there is no point to being "anonymous."

It's also highly likely that the NY Times edited the piece to disguise the author.

All of the above. Even denying it was a "he" as mentioned in a NYT statement, saying the person who wrote the statement was not in a position to even know if it was a he or a she.

I wonder if there are any hidden messages in the text like Arnold did several years ago.
