Would you "allow" a family member to attend an Expo right now?

Have you talked to your doctor about your covid risk level considering your lungs?

Not yet.
IMO, if you haven't talked you doctor about your personal covid (due to your lung condition) risk then you're really just making things up.

At this point, its not so much that the vaccinated are avoiding covid (which they are) but that the risks when catching it are very very low.

You might be unnecessarily worrying.

It is not worth going to. Everything else is moot.

No.

A friend’s foolishly unvaccinated sister and her son went to a notary public seminar in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago. Sister, their mom, brother who had flown in from Texas, and some grand kids so far have been infected with the Covid. Fingers crossed, nobody in hospital.

Sigh…

and that is the whole story right there. The person in question is vaccinated and will be masked. With the vaccinated infect rate being pretty much non-existent, she will almost assuredly be fine.

As I said earlier, if she lives on her own then she can quarantine from the rest of the family. If she lives at home, then it needs to be an open discussion. This virus will never be fully gone, we need to figure out how to live with it.

but ultimately, each has to make their own decision. What I or anyone else would do is irrelevant as out situation is different from yours.

Also, no, as in would vehemently recommend against it.

While science currently shows the odds of a serious reaction to COVID infection is unlikely, as in not requiring hospitalization, I agree that the ROI just isn't worth it.

Though full time N95 masking (if you have them and not the typical masks most of us have been using) would mitigate getting infected, is it possible for you daughter to quarantine to limit potential exposure from her?

ODDS are she and you would/will be ok.

Me, this is an instance where I would not play those odds.
