Not political, but Covid on this discussion on this side

Masks are like turn signals. They are a MINOR inconvenience, they take a TINY bit of extra effort, they are meant to help others, not you, and...

...lots of people don't use them.

Why is this even a question? There are a zillion masks out there that are perfectly comfortable. Frankly, they're more comfortable than wearing underpants and nobody complains about that. Wearing a mask is just about the most minimal unintrusive thing anyone an do that will protect the fellow humans around them. In my area, all of the stores require masks and there is 100% compliance. It is no big deal. Get a grip!

Um, I take issue with "more comfortable than wearing underpants." My underpants don't fog my glasses. But I see your point.

But... but... freedomz!

Almost all the people I've heard complaining about mask-wearing claim that it's somehow an infringement on their personal rights. Well, what about my right to NOT be infected by you?
I often get the impression that "infringement on personal rights" types very often conflate the (alleged) fact of that they the have a right to say no with providing an actual reason why they want to invoke the supposed right to say no. Saying "I have a right" is not the same as having sufficient reason for invoking that (supposed) right.

One of the major issues is that people are still conflating the purpose of masking, they still think wearing a mask is to protect themselves rather than to protect others.

Perhaps you're not wearing your underpants right. Big Grin

* Ok, that was a really dumb joke, but I couldn't help myself.

“No shoes, no shirt, no mask, no service.” I bet those freedumb folks wished they had objected to the shoes and shirts part many decades ago.
