What Is The Last Macbook Pro That Will Run High Sierra?
#11
I'm still using my Mid-2012 13" MBP. I've maxed out the RAM and added a SSD as the boot drive in place of the DVD SuperDrive. I've upgraded it with OpenCore Patcher. It still works well at almost 12 years old, but my work-provided HP laptop is also now my main computer.

My main machine is a 2015 MBP, 16 GB, 1Tb. It still works great for everything. Don't even think about getting any of the bad kb machines.

Is there software that allows us to run prior OS's on Apple Silicon? I have a vague recollection of something like that, but I may be misremembering....

There are hacks available, but I looked into it and decided it was too much trouble. I had a VM of Snow Leopard that I wanted to keep when I finally transitioned from my Mac Pro to a Studio. I just ended up transferring my Parallels license to my son's old mini and I fire that up whenever I want to use Snow Leopard.

Hmmm. I do like this KB.

Maybe I should just hit this one with a new SSD and more memory.

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)

2.6 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB RAM

?

:boink:

I use a SD card in the slot to back up to. Still a solid machine.
