DId Google yank the 'no ads' search already?

Pity, I liked ad-less Google the best. (and no ads in the search results)

I don't seem to get ads although maybe I didn't test it correctly.

I don't understand WHY they would yank the ads. Was it a proxy-Google by a 3rd party or what? Thats how Google makes money. I think.

Well, to understand why, it might have been a secret/back-door query used only by google employees and once the cat was out of the bag, they changed it.

See the video in tugger's original post I link(ed) to above. It shows the differences. I WAS using it that way, too. But now it's changed (back).

strangely it seems to depend on what you search for. Searching for "keen sandals" (since I am wearing them) gets tons of ads. Searching for "ipod shuffle reset" (since my partner is having trouble with her shuffle) gets me no ads still today.
