My Nephew who works retail says he would love to "Slap the Crap" out of those brats but they can't say a thing to them. He works, and lives in a very affluent neighborhood in Orange County (The OC), he is only 22 and is still amazed over the brats that shop where he works. It starts with the parents. BGnR It's not the children; it's the parents. So SLAP the PARENTS! But, seriously, forget about litigation. One might get killed for speaking up these days.

[quote M A V I C][quote BigGuynRusty][quote M A V I C]Judging by results, they don't care. Anyone can be asked to leave a store at anytime. Do you know of any lawsuits that came simply because an employee asked a customer to leave?
I guess you don't read much VPFrankX.
Happens all the time. BGnR I read often. If it happens all the time, it shouldn't take you much effort to provide some evidence to support your statement. Even if that was the case, the facts of the matter disprove your statement. The results speak for themselves. I think iy happens frequently too, but I'm not finding much corroboration via the web. This is interesting, though: http://ca10.washburnlaw.edu/cases/2007/05/06-3087.htm Legally you can refuse service to anyone based on their behavior, but you better make darn sure they're not a protected class.

as one who works in retail, if I win the lottery, this is what I would like to do to those people who "pick" up a $20 slab of meat and then throw it on the shelf with the green beans....
Walk into their house, pick up their lamp in the living room, take it to the family room and put in on the couch, pick up their tv and put it in the kitchen, take their pots and pans and dump them in the bathroom.... Yep, say something in the future. After about 50 people say something to them, they will still think they are right and the world is out to get them, but still, something needs to be said to the aholes of the world.

It is hazardous to be a store's manager these days.

I would like to see service levels (aka SLAs) provided on a placard up front in stores. That is, what service they provide and what they expect patrons to provide. I still leave trays on fast food tables, it indicates it needs to be cleaned (not trashed, but table wiped down). Who knows what is on that table? gross.
I hesitate to do the changing room thing I learned from women, but have given into it. That is, leave the clothes you tried on at the exit to the changing room, NOT put it back on the rack. Especially dress shirts with 100 pins. I had to yell at Frys guys this week. I stood patiently waiting as they took phone calls, and then another person walked up and they immediately asked how they could help. I said, "Hold on! I've stood here while you took phone calls, but to take that guy over me when I've been here 10 minutes is enough!" I really wanted to punch their fat asses in the face.

AAA,
The cashier helped whoever happened to be in her sight. And some Ahole took advantage of that to cut in front of me who had been waiting for 10 minutes. I remained calm then suggested it to the cashier to call out, "I will help the next customer in line." And she said, "You should have spoken up!"

That's frustrating. I like the deli "take a ticket" method or the pull from one queue method. Either way, first in first out FIFO.

Our local postal office uses the ticket system as well even though, our town folks already have the mutual respect for each other.

>It's admirable to take offense at seeing someone show disregard and disrespect for others-- but bringing the whole thing back to "it raises prices" is just a different brand of the same selfishness.
Um...if you read my original post, i said nothing about raised prices. I hadn't even thought of that, but it IS an extremely valid point. And how is it selfish to not want raised prices for no good reason -- and for something totally preventable? Are you independently wealthy? If so, good for you, but that doesn't mean the rest of us are. I only ask that because it's the only logical conclusion I can come to in order to make sense of your statement. Do you also believe it's fine for people to fake injuries and accidents so insurance rates are raised for the rest of us? Is it selfish to not want this to happen as well -- Enlighten me, por favor. |
