NPR smackdown - " Whad'Ya Know?" vs "Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me"
#11
Wait Wait. no contest.

Whad'Ya Know is smug and boring. Wait Wait is smug but incredibly funny. i've gathered a greater appreciation not only for Dana Perino, but Mike Huckabee (do you know he pardoned Keith Richards!) and Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.

and what's not to love about Carl Kassel?

[quote wurm]Don't forget about Says You. http://saysyou.org/ Now you're talking. Says You is my favorite and I still listen to Wait, Wait. I used to listen to Whatd'Ya Know religiously, but in the end there was a sameness to it from show to show that let me drift away from it. Not a bad show, but they all started to kind of blend together.

When Says You comes on, I think about sending my annual check not to my local NPR station but to the NRA.

I used to love Whad'Ya when I could get it. But the stations here don't carry it, so I listen to Wait Wait and it's either funnier than it used to be, or I've come to like the panelists more. And yeah, hearing the White House press secretary admit she didn't know anything about the Bay of Pigs is not something I'll forget anytime soon.

My five year old son likes Wait Wait, and they're always subtle with their innuendo.

Feldman seems to be bored and ready for a nap every time that I listen. Wait, Wait is where it's at.

I heard Feldman for the first time in awhile today and he wasn't as funny as I thought I remembered. He has a quck mind, but it seems like the quips are just something he has a knack for, and aren't really all that funny.

I enjoy both but "Whad'Ya Know?" is the one that I always try to tape if I can't listen to it live.
Have been doing this for nearly 20 years.
