Maybe I should ask him if "consumes mass quantities?"

much. Do check his feedback record. One issue regarding insurance is that filing a claim usually requires that you get a signed affidavit from the buyer indicating that the item was never received. If you have an honest buyer, they will usually oblige. On the other hand, if they are dishonest and file a fraudulent "item not received" claim with PayPal but refuse to provide you with the affidavit, then you may be screwed, since PayPal may still give them a refund. PayPal ought to amend their protection policies so that buyers are required to provide such affidavits for "lost" items that have been insured in order to get their refund, but AFAIK they don't have such a policy. The items I sell on eBay are not particularly attractive to scammers, but SLR lenses are a different matter. Best would be a shipping method requiring a signature.

21 feedbacks, 3 negs in the last month for some cheap magazines.
Babel Fish translated something about him not compromising on one and about him not understanding something on the other two. His replies said something about trying to contact the buyers but unable to do so. Everything else is the usual A+, fast payment sort of feedback. Member since Nov '07.

In my eBay days, I found USPS to be the only reasonably priced way to ship overseas. And you can do it at any local post office, very handy for the extra paperwork it generates.
I made maybe 6 sales overseas through the years, never had a problem, got some pretty good bids, too, if the goods are not easily found in the home country. Some guy living in his mom's basement in Chicago is just likely if not more to stick you than an overseas buyer, in my experience. --A--

--A-- Shipping with delivery confirmation to a "confirmed" address will protect you from fraudulent PayPal charge-back claims. Unfortunately, PayPal only recognizes "confirmed" addressed for US, UK, and Canada, so that sellers are unprotected for most international sales. |
