A toaster on my kitchen counter is hardly a 'bunch of crap". I have a really nice toaster! No one disposes of their toaster away and uses a high-end oven in its place. But toasters and entertainment devices don't have much in common.
I assume anyone who's not been living in the jungles of Brazil for the last 20 years has multiple CD-playing devices. People that enjoy and care about two-channel stereo don't play their CD collection through their TV, with or without a 5.1 home theater reciever. Great for movies, rarely great for playing music. And if you have an AV receiver, it's got inputs. A Blu-Ray player doesn't have to be a do-everything-play-everything-one-in-all unit. But, if convenience is the only thing you care about, by all means! Not many are buying Blu Ray players yet anyway. This is all subject to change and development. Customers usually have companies competing to make products they want to buy, if users demand a Blu Ray player that plays their CDs, the winning company will likely deliver it. |
