There are times when you know that the gunshots aren't really that close and between the Lexan and Kevlar, you can kick back without breaking out your own iron. Times like those you want to isolate the extraneous noise. Nothing ruins a mood like having a gentle passage from Scheherazade peppered with gunfire.

Where the hell do live?

Kirkuk?

Detroit?

Can't you just listen to the 1812 Overture during shootin' hours?

I'm *still* looking for a pair of "closed" circumaural 'phones in the 580/650 class.

Check out the pricey Denons:

POMTL!

Apropos sort of. As a kid, I remember the 1812 Overture being used as the theme for the Quaker Puffed Wheat and Quaker Puffed Rice commercials shown during Sergeant Preston of the Yukon. Loved that show! (I had the dog whistle and snow goggles from the Puffed Wheat cereal.)

"On, King! On, you huskies!"

Bix, I've been looking at those 2000s/5000s for awhile now! I like the look and promise of the 5s, but the MSRP a little pricey for my taste. The 2s look attractive. I've emailed headphone for their current price on each.

I forgot to mention that Quaker Puffed Wheat and Quaker Puffed Rice were advertised on that show (and others possibly) as "the breakfast serial shot from guns!"
