how about watching cable tv series as a whole season, without commercial breaks? I don't have premium cable, but lots of good stuff on Showtime, and from out of the country. All sorts of good BBC stuff. Shark Week DVD sets every year, all sorts of great options that aren't from ABC, NBC & CBS. Heck, Miami Vice DVDs!
