I mostly use mine for couch surfing and mobile surfing. I bought the Apple case so that the stand portion would make holding it at an angle a little easier. It is uncomfortable to hold it at an angle for long periods of time, without some sort of prop. It is a thousand times easier to take the iPad, if I know I will need to access the internet for some reason when I am out or traveling, than it is to take my MacBook. Obviously you can't do quite as much on the iPad as a laptop, but for checking email or the web, it is great, not to mention it is a great time waster enabler, with all the games. It is also great to have it for Skype, if you need that.

Rhonda, don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one myself, but I think I'll probably wait for v2. Also I'd like to see the price drop in the same way it did for the iPhone... ridiculous that it went from $599 to what... you can get them for $99 now.
