Worth upgrading my iPhone?
#11
Only 13 days 'til the new iPhone announcement. I think you'd have to be crazy to not wait and see what falls out of that announcement.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Goes to show how little attention I have been paying to new hardware as I didn't realize the new one was supposed to be announced so soon.

I'll hold off for a couple weeks and will probably have some new questions then. Smile

I am also eligible for an upgrade but I am waiting to hear what Steve has to say in a couple of weeks.

Steve says this in a couple of weeks: the iPhone will be faster, has dual cameras, the one in the back high resolution, flash, etc for taking photos, the one in the front lower resolution, no flash, for video chat. The iPhone is also a little more square than the existing models. You know, like the one lost in a bar...

He also might alter the pricing to compete better with those pesky Android phones, and don't forget about the personal jetpack attachment.

The up-front cost of the phone is not as significant when put in context of the total 2-year cost.

The next iPhone is typically due in June/July.

With all the rumored bells and whistles (some of them not-so-rumored) you may not want to pop for the L&G.

But you may get a lot more at the entry level for less money. And the 3GS is faster to use than the 3G in most functions so that alone is worth an upgrade since you're eligible.

Since at&t raised the bailout price, it takes a really compelling reason to bail out of a contract. The cost does drop with time served, but it still stinks.

Even though everybody else is doing it, it still stinks.

I thought there was a suit filed against Verizon for raising the early termination fees?

what to June and the WWDC. iPhone 4 HD model may be exactly what you want, but I'm sure the 3Gs will be the entry level model for this cycle.

One good thing is that the 3Gs will take full advantage of iphone Os 4.0.

The iPhone 4 Hd model though, will have a front facing camera, plus a much better main camera at least and probably a standard 32 MB of memory.
